Academic Pediatric Neurologist-Community-based Outpatient Neurology

 

Community-based Outpatient Neurology Position Within World-Class WashU Medicine

The Division of Pediatric & Developmental Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, in partnership with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, is seeking a full-time academic Pediatric Neurologist to join our Pediatric General Neurology Section’s multidisciplinary team dedicated to
managing complex pediatric neurological disorders. The primary clinical care location will be the newest, state-of-the-art St. Louis Children’s Specialty Care Center in Wentzville, MO. This location offers a full and convenient range of necessary on-site ancillary services such as EEG, outpatient lab, ambulatory procedure center, therapy services, sleep lab, imaging center, pharmacy, and urgent care.

The successful applicant will be appointed at a Washington University Medical School rank
(Assistant, Associate Professor, Professor) commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities.

 

Position Highlights:

  • Predominant outpatient focus on the evaluation and treatment of infants, children, and adolescents with neurological conditions at a new, state-of-the-art care location
    • Participation in relevant subspecialty clinics (e.g., Epilepsy, Neuromuscular, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology, Neonatal Neurology) based on interest and expertise.
  • Procedural Flexibility: Robust support to build and integrate specialized clinical interests, including EEG, EMG, Sleep Study reading, and in-office procedures (e.g., Botulinum toxin injections).
  • No mandatory inpatient call requirements.
  • Research & Academic Activity: Engage in scholarly activities, clinical trials, or translational research aligned with Department priorities.

Qualifications

  • Education: MD, DO, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. Eligible for an unrestricted Missouri medical license.
  • Fellowship: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Neurology fellowship program. Subspecialty fellowship training (e.g., Epilepsy, Neuromuscular) is welcomed, but not required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, dedication to patient- and family-centered care, and commitment to academic medicine and medical education.
