POD 1 Physician Leadership Opportunity
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a physician leader of a dynamic and complex clinical environment. POD 1 is based in Parkview Tower, on the main campus of Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The POD houses 13 operating rooms, including four state-of-the -art robotic ORs, and adjacent interventional radiology suites. The POD serves obstetrics and gynecology, colorectal, urologic and minimally invasive surgery. In this important leadership role, the Physician POD 1 leader will partner closely with BJH Perioperative Services and surgical colleagues to advance quality, safety, and efficiency in perioperative care. She or he will also plays a key role in fostering professionalism, teamwork, and innovation while supporting a safe and collaborative environment for patients and care teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading operational excellence efforts, including implementation of the WUDA staffing model
- Supporting high-quality, equitable, and timely care delivery in POD 1
- Overseeing quality and safety initiatives and participating in PSQ efforts
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across perioperative services
- Engaging in departmental leadership activities and ongoing leadership development
- Supporting a safe environment conducive to learning and innovations
This is a clinical leadership opportunity with a stipend and departmental commitment to leadership development. The POD 1 leader will be a member of the WUDA BJH clinical leadership team and will report to the Director of Clinical Anesthesiology at BJH.
Basic Qualifications:
- Full-time clinical faculty practicing primarily at BJH (including in-house call)
- ABA Board Certification in Anesthesiology
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and collaboration
