Clinical Faculty - Full Time: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Neuro-Rehabilitation Division - Physiatry

Washington University School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery — Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Neuro-Rehabilitation Division — seeks a full-time clinical faculty member in PM&R neuro-rehabilitation physiatry to join our high-volume practice. This position reports to the division chief.

This position will assist in the growth and expansion of the neuro rehabilitation program. Our growth brings opportunities for both early- and mid-career candidates in a variety of roles, including medical directorships and leadership in education and quality improvement. We practice in a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment with opportunities to build an academic career that includes clinical care, teaching, research opportunities, and program development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical:

Clinical responsibilities of this position include caring for a diverse population with a broad range of diagnoses, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, post-acute symptoms of COVID, polytrauma, medically complex and neuromuscular disorders. Duties may include a mix of working in the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit, hospital consultation, and outpatient clinic settings. 

Academic Instruction: 

Academic responsibilities include active participation in, and commitment to, PM&R fellow, resident and medical student education, including:

Clinical training and teaching.
Participating in conferences, journal clubs and related activities.

Research:

The faculty member will conduct research (clinical, basic science, translational and/or biomechanics), working with researchers within the department and across Washington University School of Medicine. Our department has a long history of research contribution, with a focus on treatment strategies and outcomes.

Applicants should have board certification or eligibility for board certification in physical medicine & rehabilitation and successful completion of residency training in an accredited PM&R program.
