Cardiothoracic Radiologist

WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) is seeking academically dedicated individuals to join our growing team and help advance our clinical missions. We are looking for a cardiothoracic radiologist to join a dynamic group of 12 university faculty members and two to three fellows in the cardiothoracic imaging section. Our practice primarily serves Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a quaternary referral and Level 1 trauma center, consistently recognized as one of the leading academic medical centers in the U.S. Here are just a few reasons why our clinical faculty members are leading the way in cardiothoracic imaging:

  • A nationally-recognized subspecialty trained cardiothoracic imaging team that interprets thoracic CT,  chest radiographs, cardiac CT and cardiac MR, and performs transthoracic CT-guided needle biopsies.
  • Leading edge equipment – among the most advanced available – that includes MRI, and photon-counting CT scanners with advanced imaging and 3D processing workstations.
  • A unique case mix encompassing all modalities and different acuity levels, including oncology, transplant, trauma, cardiac, vascular and rare disease cases.
  • Practicing in a multidisciplinary setting and close collaborative relationships with our WashU Med colleagues.
  • Opportunity to work with highly qualified residents and fellows in one the largest and consistently ranked top training programs in the nation.
  • Mentorship from leading radiologists offering guidance in research, education and career advancement, and numerous opportunities for continued development at department, medical school and university levels.
  • Opportunities for both investigator-initiated projects as well as participation in multidisciplinary NIH-funded research projects.

The optimal candidate would have expertise in the interpretation of chest radiography, cardiac CT, and cardiothoracic MR. Body CT reads are also available, if desired. The ability to staff Emergency Radiology and perform transthoracic needle biopsies is also welcomed. Applicants must be ABR board-certified or board-eligible; either an MD or MD/PhD; and fellowship-trained in thoracic or cardiothoracic radiology.

MIR is committed to promoting an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all individuals. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, veteran status, disability or genetic information.

Compensation/Benefits

Our radiologists receive a competitive compensation and benefits package as well as opportunities for additional income through evening and weekend moonlighting. In addition to health, life and disability coverage, we offer tuition assistance (including dependents) and a generous retirement program. There is also a professional development allowance, competitive time off and full access to a variety of wellness programs.
