BC/BE Neurologist for a faculty position in NeuroInfectious Diseases and General Neurology Sections
The Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, is seeking a BC/BE Neurologist for a faculty position in NeuroInfectious Diseases and General Neurology Sections (U.S. or any system cognizable as compatible for patient care purpose in the U.S.). Applicants at all academic ranks are encouraged to apply. Primary responsibilities include outpatient evaluation and management of a wide variety of neurological patients. Applicants will spend approximately half of their time in the diagnosis and management of various neuroinfectious diseases (e.g., bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic meningoencephalitis and myelitis) among both immunocompetent and immunocompromised (e.g., HIV/AIDS, transplant patients) patients. The applicant will spend the other half in the diagnosis and management of general neurology patients. In addition to outpatient clinics, the successful applicant will have the ability to participate on the inpatient neurology consult service. Opportunities for clinical research are available and strong collaborations exist within the Department of Neurology.
Patients come from the St. Louis metropolitan area and are also referred from surrounding regions that encompass a multi-state area. Education is an important part of the mission, and opportunities will be available for teaching of medical students and residents in connection with these patient care activities.
