Faculty Leadership of Non-Operating Room Anesthesia
WashU Medicine in St. Louis, Department of Anesthesiology (WUDA) is seeking applications for a Physician Leader for Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH). This is an important clinical leadership role in which the NORA leader will partner with WashU Medicine interventional specialties and BJH Perioperative Services to promote quality, safety and efficiency of care in procedural areas. The leader will support WUDA teams, help enhance professionalism and teamwork and ensure that the procedural areas are a safe and nurturing environment for patients and all member of the healthcare team. NORA leaders will coordinate the care of patients requiring treatment on both north and south campuses at BJH, and be able to interact with clinical leaders in both these areas. NORA leader will also have opportunities to create and foster new clinical initiatives to improve patient outcomes. NORA leaders are members of the WUDA BJH clinical leadership team and work closely with and report directly to the Directors of Clinical Anesthesiology at BJH. This is an exciting clinical leadership opportunity with prospects for future leadership growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Implement WUDA staffing model across the remote procedural areas
- Ensure WUDA provides highly reliable, high quality, equitable and timely care in BJH procedural areas
- Participate in strategic planning with WUSM procedural and BJH Perioperative leadership
Quality and Safety
- Oversee clinical protocols for
remote anesthesia locations - Ensure WUDA meets Safety, Quality and Efficiency metrics as defined by WUSM and BJH in remote anesthesia locations
Leadership
- Attend Clinical Operations and POD Leader meetings
- Collaborate the Anesthesia Support tech staff and leadership to improve patient care
- Collaborate with Preop and PACU leadership to create and foster workflows for remote anesthesia locations
Qualifications:
- Full time clinical faculty, practicing primarily at BJH
- ABA Board Certification in Anesthesiology
- Recognized as an expert perioperative physician
- Recognized for impeccable integrity, a role model for colleagues and trainees
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence and culture of safety
- Commitment to building a collaborative, respectful and inclusive, patient-centric culture
- Ownership and accountability for ideas, actions, and outcomes
