The Bednarski lab is looking for a Research Scientist to join our team. We study mechanisms that regulate early hematopoietic and immune cell development. In particular, we are interested in the integration of DNA damage responses with developmental programs to promote normal development and suppress leukemogenesis. We have several projects related to these general topics. Each focuses on gene regulation during hematopoietic and immune cell development and differentiation. The overall goal of our work is to develop characterize normal developmental programs and elucidate mechanisms of leukemia and immune deficiencies.
An ideal candidate for this position will have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biological sciences or related fields, as well as post-doctoral experience in molecular biology and genomics. Applicants must have good spoken and written communication skills. Willingness and experience in mentoring trainees, grant writing, manuscript preparation is desired. Individual in this position will have opportunity to lead their own project, submit grant applications for independent funding, and present data at multi-disciplinary faculty meetings and national/international conferences.
