Position Description:

The Division of Plastic Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a dynamic and innovative physician to join our pediatric plastic surgery team. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is a 400-bed facility providing care to the St. Louis metropolitan area and a primary service region covering six states. As the hospital for Washington University School of Medicine, the hospital offers nationally recognized clinical programs. The Division is Plastic Surgery is under the leadership of Justin Sacks, MD, MBA, FACS provides the breadth of surgical care and is fully integrated in the Department of Surgery at Washington University St. Louis. The successful applicant should have experience in Cleft-Craniofacial care, General Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Adult Craniofacial Trauma Reconstruction. The applicant should also demonstrate the ability to be part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition, resources will be provided to support impactful research programs that parallel the applicant’s clinical interest.

  • The successful faculty candidate will possess or demonstrate:
    • Fellowship training in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery
    • Current Board certified/eligible
    • Demonstrated clinical excellence
    • Nationally recognized for academic excellence in patient care, teaching, and research and be acknowledged among his/her peers as a visionary thinker
    • Support and promote the concept of patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary clinical environment, and an understanding of the current forces in medicine and work with the Departmental and Divisional leadership in the strategic growth of the service
    • Demonstrated clinical leadership experience for advancing outcomes in quality, performance management, growth in academic initiatives
    • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to advance clinical programs, educational missions, and research
    • Promote and participate in research as necessary

Additional Qualifications:

Requirements are prior Plastic Surgery ACGME fellowship training and adequate case numbers for certification.
