Pediatric Anesthesiology Assistant Clinical Director

The Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a full time Pediatric Anesthesiology Assistant Clinical Director. In this exciting opportunity, you will join a thriving and dedicated group of 34 Pediatric Anesthesiologists, 20 CRNAs, 2 Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellows, 5 Nurse practitioners and 5 Administrators with a unified focus on excellence in patient care and innovation.  This group provides clinical care at the nationally ranked St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the Shriners Hospital for Children and the Children’s Specialty Care Centers in West and South Counties.  Many faculty and staff hold leadership roles in the areas of clinical operations, education and research throughout the Washington University and Barnes Jewish Hospital systems.

The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology critically supports a shared academic mission with the Department of Anesthesiology by providing clinical, educational and research training to medical students, Anesthesiology residents and Pediatric Anesthesiology fellows. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, clinically skilled, and able to work congenially with peers and motivated for life-long learning. 

The Pediatric Anesthesiology Assistant Clinical Director would be responsible, in collaboration with the Clinical Director and the Vice Chair of pediatric anesthesiology, for clinical operations and scheduling within the division of pediatric anesthesiology.

The parent Department of Anesthesiology has 175 faculty members and is a national and international leader in diverse areas of research.  There are many faculty development opportunities in education, research, patient safety and administration.  The medical center is geographically located in a beautiful setting next to Forest Park, a 1300-acre facility that is one of the largest urban parks in the United States! St. Louis is a livable city with multiple eclectic neighborhoods, a healthy arts environment, a burgeoning foodie scene as well as nationally ranked professional baseball, soccer, and hockey teams.
