Clinician Educator – Pediatric Nephrology #1010885

The Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time board-eligible or board-certified pediatric nephrologist to join our division of 9 faculty members, 2 advanced practice providers, 4 clinical nurses and multidisciplinary team members. This faculty position, rank commensurate to experience, primarily encompasses 0.8 FTE in clinical care and trainee education. We encourage any type of focused interest for the remaining time in quality improvement, advocacy or clinical research.

The division has a thriving clinical program with a wide range of pathology and provides acute and chronic dialysis services, all types of apheresis services (plasma exchange, photopheresis, red and white cell reduction, stem cell collection) and pre- and post-transplant care. We perform our own kidney biopsies. Our school, department and division all have a long-standing track record of outstanding basic and clinical research. We are currently one of 3 NIH-funded Pediatric Centers of Excellence in Nephrology. We have a long-standing ACGME approved Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship program. The division has consistently been listed in the US News and World Report top Pediatric Nephrology programs. Faculty members practice at the attached St. Louis Children’s Hospital, which is part of the very large 28-hospital BJC Healthcare system, as well as in satellite clinics. The WashU Medical Center campus is located next to the 1371-acre Forest Park, one of the largest public parks in the country.

The greater St Louis area offers many hidden gems, including world class (and free) museums, numerous theaters, 4 professional sports teams, and plentiful outdoor activities. St Louis has its own hallmark cuisine. The cost of living is very affordable.
