Clinical Faculty - Full Time: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Neuro-Rehabilitation Division — Spinal Cord

Washington University School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery — Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Neuro-Rehabilitation Division — seeks a full-time clinical faculty member in spinal cord injury to join our high-volume practice. This position reports to the division chief.

This position will assist in the growth and expansion of the neuro rehabilitation program, including the elevation of our fellowship training program to ACGME accreditation. We practice in a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment, with opportunities to build an academic career that includes clinical care, teaching, research opportunities, and program development.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Clinical responsibilities of this position include providing high-quality patient care primarily in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Besides spinal cord injury and dysfunction, there is also the potential to participate in other rehabilitation services such as spasticity management, and inpatient rehabilitation consultation.

Academic Instruction: Academic responsibilities include active participation in, and commitment to, PM&R fellow, resident and medical student education, including clinical training and teaching, participating in conferences, journal clubs and related activities.

Research: The faculty member will conduct research (clinical, basic science, translational and/or biomechanics), working with researchers within the department and across Washington University School of Medicine. Our department has a long history of research contribution, with a focus on treatment strategies and outcomes.

Applicants should have board certification/board eligibility in spinal cord injury and successful completion of residency
training in an accredited PM&R program.
