Section Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases

The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis seeks a faculty member with experience in Transplant Infectious Diseases to join the Division as director of the Transplant ID group within the Division.   The appointment will be at the Associate Professor/Professor level and the appointee would be expected to contribute to the research, clinical, and educational activities of the Division with respect to Transplant Infectious Diseases.  Candidates with research programs in all areas of Infectious Diseases will be considered, including those with clinical and bench-based research programs.  Faculty rank will be determined by the qualification and experience of the successful candidate.

 

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent in medicine, with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and possess or be capable of obtaining a State of Missouri Medical License.  In addition, the candidate must have sufficient experience and scholarly activity in transplant-related infections to lead a successful transplant ID group.  In particular, the successful candidate should be able to develop a strategy to educate and train fellows interested in transplant ID, to mentor and support junior faculty and to establish a program of research and scholarship based on local research opportunities.
