Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI Physician)
Washington University Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a motivated BE/BC Reproductive Endocrinologist for our Clinician-Educator Track position to begin Academic Year 2024-25. We have a very active, academic clinical practice with an eye towards growth. The center performed the first IVF cycle in Missouri and maintains its position as a patient centered, innovative leader in the region performing ~1,000 ART cycles a year.
Our center operates in collaboration with Barnes Jewish Hospital and maintains a large market share within the St. Louis metro area including Central and Southern Illinois. We also have a formal relationship with Cox Medical Centers in Springfield MO which provides care to residents in Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas. The REI faculty are regional and national leaders in reproductive medicine and have a close relationship with community OBGYNs and employers in the region and state.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding clinical and surgical expertise in reproductive endocrinology and infertility with particular interest in fertility preservation as well as an interest in leading the development of the division’s minimally invasive footprint in the region. Currently our division works academically and clinically with MIGS and GYN Oncology to provide medical and surgical management as well as training of complex pelvic pathology including endometriosis and fibroids.

Washington University Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division is recognized as a Center of Excellence for our services and successful, patient centered outcomes by offering a full line of leading-edge medical and surgical services to help patients along their fertility journey. This individual will join a dynamic clinical practice with 5 other reproductive endocrinologists, one PhD on site lab director, 3 fellows and a large, talented and dedicated team of nurses and administrative support.
Highlights include:- * On site surgery center for ART and Non ART cases (MVAs, Hysteroscopy) as well as daily office hysteroscopy for flexible patient offerings * Advanced practice nurse support as well as fully staffed, experienced RN coordinators * Full suite of fertility preservation services including ovarian and testicular tissue cryopreservation * Opportunities for informal or formal career development in bioinformatics, healthcare operational excellence, change management *Significant tuition benefits to employees and their dependents *WUSM and BJC employ >30,000 people in the region and provide fertility treatment benefits *Mature, customized ART EPIC EMR and patient centered telemedicine workflows *State-of-the-art embryology, andrology and endocrine laboratory that was expanded and upgraded in 2017 providing access to the latest genetic testing technologies and sperm retrieval/freezing options *In house genetic counselor for carrier screening and Preimplantation genetic testing needs *Support to lead reproductive health and LGTBQ+ undergraduate curriculum development within the OBGYN Department and School of Medicine. Washington University School of Medicine is currently undergoing a sweeping curriculum reform initiative *Current use of machine learning to make clinical decisions on day of training and opportunities to develop other systems formally or informally with Bioinformatics certificate opportunities *Existing as well as expanding collaborative translational opportunities specific to REI with our Center for Reproductive Health Sciences (CRepHS) and the McKelvey School of Engineering *Intramural (as well as extramural) funding opportunities are available for research as desired for future career development. Though, it should be noted that the primary role of this position is a clinical one.
Qualified candidates will have completed residency in a U.S. Obstetrics and Gynecology training program and subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and must be Board certified or active candidate in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
