Breast Surgical Oncologist

The Section of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking an academic breast surgical oncologist to join its faculty in St. Louis, Missouri.  This individual will be a part of our breast oncology program within the multidisciplinary breast program at the Alvin J. Siteman Comprehensive Cancer Center.

This position is ideally suited to an individual with the experience and a vision to develop programs in breast oncology at multiple satellite locations within our cancer center that is anchored at our flagship location.  Altogether, the breast programs of Washington University School of Medicine include 4 full-time breast surgeons, an SSO-accredited breast surgical oncology fellowship and care for nearly >1,000 new breast cancer patients annually. 

This full-time faculty position is designed for an academic breast surgeon with a track record of accomplishment in developing clinical, research, and educational/training programs in breast oncology. The successful applicant will join the Washington University School of Medicine Department of Surgery in the Section of Surgical Oncology within the Division of General Surgery. This role will require significant interaction with a multidisciplinary team of individuals, including breast medical and radiation oncology faculty and trainees, as we seek to grow surgical oncology programs of excellence across our department and cancer center.  Metrics for success will include clinical program development, scholarship and success in extramural funding, and enhancing the educational (including breast fellowship) mission of our group.

Faculty title(s), rank, and breakdown of responsibilities (clinical, academic, and teaching) will be commensurate with the qualifications and background of the candidates.
