#1010761 Pediatric Infectious Diseases Faculty – Immunocompromised ID

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a clinical faculty member to join the pediatric immunocompromised ID team at Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The position will involve 16-20 weeks per year of inpatient IC ID consult service, which encompasses stem-cell transplant and oncology populations, solid-organ transplant programs (heart, lung, liver, kidney), heart center and CICU patients, and those with primary immune deficiencies or other immunocompromised states (e.g., in rheumatology or IBD populations).  In addition, the position is embedded with outpatient clinics for the heart and lung transplant services, and will aim to build additional ID outpatient services for the oncology and SCT populations.  Depending on the candidate’s other activities and experience, a small amount of outpatient activity may be spent in pediatric HIV care or general ID clinic.  

  • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families, including embracing and reflecting diversity in the broadest sense
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of physicians and nonphysician professionals in outpatient and inpatient care settings
  • Academic rank commensurate with qualifications in accordance with the Guidelines for Appointments in the Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine

Specific experience (during fellowship training or early faculty career) in care of the immunocompromised child (particularly SOT and SCT/Onc patients). 

Interest and/or experience in clinical research (e.g., multicenter projects) regarding transplant ID patients is welcomed but not required.
