Full-time Research Faculty in the Department of Neurology- Neuroinfectious Disease
The Section of Neuroinfectious Disease in the Department of Neurology is seeking an individual with experience for a full-time research faculty position in the lab of Dr. Beau Ances. The position duties will be to work with Dr. Ances on projects related to Alzheimer disease (AD) and to develop specific projects related to neurology and neuroscience. The candidate will work closely with students, technicians, lab members, and other faculty associated with the Ances lab and other groups at Washington University in Saint Louis Medical School. The candidate will be expected to write research grants, develop and write manuscripts for publication, and formulate research protocols while assisting in identifying new directions for research. The expectation of the candidate will be to develop additional research projects so they may continue to develop towards a pathway of becoming an independent researcher in the future. The candidate will be expected to apply for internal and external funding resources for their work. Candidates who have experience working in culturally diverse environments are highly preferred, and successful candidates should possess competencies and demonstrated expertise in multi-cultural settings.
For
physician-scientists, the Department of Neurology employs over 100 faculty and
offers neurological care in all subspecialties. Affiliated hospitals
include Barnes-Jewish (BJH), Barnes-Jewish West County (BJWC), St. Louis
