#1010737 Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinician Track Faculty – Antimicrobial Stewardship

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a clinical faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to serve as Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (a 390-bed pediatric tertiary care center) and other nearby pediatric care sites of the Department of Pediatrics. This ASP Director will work side-by-side with our experienced Pediatric ASP Pharmacist and leverage our large, state-of-the-art clinical microbiology laboratory. The position will co-direct and host the Annual International Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship Conference, held at Wash U in the late spring, as well as coordinate pediatric antimicrobial therapeutics across the 15-hospital BJC HealthCare system and interface with system-wide ASPs. A minority of time will be spent performing inpatient Pediatric ID consultations and/or seeing outpatients in Pediatric ID clinics. 

  • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and education
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of physicians and nonphysician providers in inpatient and outpatient clinical care settings
  • Embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense
  • Academic rank commensurate with qualifications in accordance with the Guidelines for Appointments in the Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine

Specific experience (during fellowship training or early faculty career) in Antimicrobial Stewardship principles and program logistics.
