BMT Clinician - Assistant Professor #1010699

We seek a board certified or board eligible pediatrician who has completed a three-year fellowship in pediatric hematology oncology, preferably with additional interest/training in transplant or cellular therapy, to join our Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapy team on the Clinician Track. This physician will join a SCT/Cell therapy team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators and allied health professionals to provide state of the art patient care. He/she will overlap with a wide range of specialist teams at St. Louis Children's Hospital (SLCH) that coordinate care with the SCT/CT team and care for patients with blood and marrow disorders, cancer, and non-malignant disorders. The pediatric SCT/Cell therapy physicians provide out-patient and in-patient care, including consultation, preparation for and performance of the transplant or cellular therapy interventions, post-transplant care, and long-term follow-up. Clinical activities will be carried out at SLCH.  Active clinical programs that include academic opportunities for professional growth include cellular and immune therapies, stem cell collection and manipulation, and transplantation for hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and non-malignant disorders, including bone marrow failure syndromes, immunodeficiencies, metabolic disorders and hemoglobinopathies. Active areas of research in the program include novel immune and cellular therapies, graft manipulation, alternate donor transplants, and novel approaches to immune deficiency transplants and GVHD prevention.
