Faculty (Full-Time), Sports Medicine Division - WUSM, Orthopaedic Surgery
The Sports Medicine division of Washington University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a full-time clinical faculty member (rank commensurate with experience), to join our high-volume practice. This position reports to the division chief.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical: Clinical responsibilities of this position include developing a full-time sports medicine academic clinical practice.

• WashU Sports Medicine has a regional, national and international reputation for excellence in nonoperative and operative orthopedic care of active patients, including sports-related concussion care.
• WashU Sports Medicine physicians work closely with colleagues in ea
ch of the Department’s 10 clinical divisions to provide optimum care in all facets of musculoskeletal medicine.
• Members of the Sports Medicine Division are locally and nationally recognized for concussion assessment and management. The opportunity to provide concussion care is available.
• Opportunities exist to help grow our regenerative medicine program.
Academic Instruction:
Academic responsibilities include active participation in, and commitment to PM&R fellow, resident and medical student education, including:
• Clinical training and teaching.
• Participating in conferences, journal clubs and related activities.
Team Physician Responsibilities:
The Sports Medicine Division has affiliations with 10 local high schools, two universities (Division-II and Division-III), local club sport teams and the St. Louis Blues professional hockey club.
Research:
We are committed to excellence is orthopedic research. This faculty member may conduct research (clinical, basic science, translational and/or biomechanics) within his or her area of academic and clinical interest. The Department has a strong collaborative relationship between clinicians and basic science researchers within the department, as well as with faculty members across the Washington University medical campus.
• The department’s Orthopedic Clinical Research Center (OCRC) is comprised of full-time research coordinators who
facilitate the research activities of the faculty and trainees.
All applicants must have completed, or be in the process of completing, a Family Practice Sports Medicine fellowship training program. All applicants must be board certified/board eligible in Family Practice and must be eligible to obtain a permanent Missouri medical license. Applicants
should hold expertise in ultrasound-guided procedures and have a commitment to sports team and event coverage.
