The Division of Infectious Diseases invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis (https://infectiousdiseases.wustl.edu/).  We are seeking candidates who have a strong record of research achievements and are taking creative approaches to investigate important questions in microbial pathogenesis and/or host defense. We welcome applicants focused on interdisciplinary, collaborative studies ranging from model systems to human studies that make use of genomics, genetics, cell biology, structural biology, computational biology, biophysics and/or biochemistry. Eligible candidates should hold degrees equivalent to MD or PhD. They will be expected to establish a dynamic, interactive, extramurally-funded research program. They will join an intellectually exciting, collegial, and supportive environment with extensive opportunities for interdepartmental collaboration. A joint appointment between the Departments of Molecular Microbiology, Pathology and Immunology, Cell Biology and Physiology, or others, depending on research focus, is possible. Available resources include biosafety level 3 (BSL3) facilities and many outstanding core facilities, including those for genomics, imaging, genome engineering, and Cryo-EM. Faculty will be eligible for membership in the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences graduate training programs. Candidates who are qualified to attend as Infectious Diseases physicians would do so at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. A competitive start-up package will be provided.
