The Department of Anesthesiology is inviting applications for a newly created Assistant Professor position. This role will be tasked with being the faculty lead for a large, multi-center patient focused clinical trial, as well as a variety of educational responsibilities that span different areas of the Department.

We are seeking someone inquisitive and thoughtful, who possesses a genuine passion for research and a demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across different constituent groups and work seamlessly with colleagues both within WU and at other institutions. Candidates should enjoy and have a dedication to teaching, including residents, research fellows, CRNAs, ACNPs, and other members of the Department. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have significant knowledge of and expertise in clinical pharmacology, anesthetic management, critical care and OR settings, and patient care and outcomes.

PhD, PharmD, and/or MD degree; postdoctoral experience is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate has the ability to lead with compassion and understanding, and knows how to motivate a team through challenging situations. Emotional intelligence is key, as is a strong commitment to promote an environment of equity, diversity, and inclusion, including experience bringing an equity lens to issues of race, gender, sexuality, and ability.
