Pediatric Radiologist -Chief of Pediatric Radiology

The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO is seeking a highly-accomplished academic Radiologist to be chief of our Pediatric Radiology section and to serve as Radiologist-in-Chief at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH).   This individual will lead a dynamic group of 7 university faculty, a medical physicist, an ACGME-approved fellowship program and an administrative staff.   Residents from the top-3-rated MIR diagnostic radiology program, the largest in the country,  rotate through the pediatric section routinely. 

We specialize in kids!  The Pediatric Radiology section provides imaging services for St. Louis Children’s Hospital and is the largest pediatric radiology team in the region performing more than 100,000 imaging exams annually. SLCH has 402 licensed beds, which includes 56 pediatric ICU beds, and a 122-bed NICU. St. Louis Children's Hospital is recognized in the top 10% nationally by U.S.News & World Report, which in 2020 ranked the hospital in all 10 specialties surveyed.  Our radiologists interpret exams from 4 MRIs, 2 CT and numerous US units. The interventional suite is co-located with the ICU.   The St. Louis Children’s Hospital is immediately contiguous with the 1400-bed Barnes Jewish Hospital which has state of the art services augmenting the SLCH facilities including PET/CT and PET/MRI.    Imaging services are also provided at our state of the art Children’s Specialty Care Centers in suburban St. Louis County.

The candidate should have completed a pediatric radiology fellowship with an ABR CAQ in Pediatric Radiology or be CAQ eligible. Responsibilities will include leading and managing the pediatric radiology team, patient care, teaching, and participation in clinical and/or basic research. Although not a requirement, NIH funding or the potential for peer-reviewed funding would be welcomed.  Academic accomplishments in the domains of clinical service, education and research are key requisites and some leadership experience is desirable.
