Assistant Professor

Assistant Professor - Center for Clinical Pharmacology

The Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine welcomes applications for a tenure-track faculty position in The Center for Clinical Pharmacology, a multi-institutional research center established in partnership with St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2015.  Successful candidates will join an existing group of faculty with research interests in basic and translational pharmacological science.

The goal of the Center for Clinical Pharmacology is to focus on human-oriented research that spans the continuum of basic to translational and clinical research, specifically through research that improves the use of both current and new therapeutics and diagnostics. The Center faculty brings vast experience in multiple aspects of drug discovery including drug mechanisms, medicinal chemistry, PK/PD, pharmacogenomics and drug development.  The Center has a deep interest in “chemical biology”, pharmacology, behavior and neuroscience.

This position is targeted at investigators at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels. Strong preference will be given to candidates currently conducting translational and/or clinical research. Additional leadership opportunities are available dependent upon experience. Successful candidates will be expected to direct an active extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and/or postdoctoral education, with faculty appointments at both Washington University School of Medicine and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  Teaching opportunities are readily available but requirements are minimal, permitting a strong focus on research.  Generous startup funds and newly constructed lab space are available.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent) and a demonstrated record of accomplishment as an independent investigator.
