Faculty Position in Pediatric Palliative Care #1010414

 

With Board certifications in both Pediatrics and Palliative Medicine, applicant will cover the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) and the WINGS Hospice Team at BJC HealthCare for 100% of your clinical effort. This clinical coverage will include provision of care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses, both acute and chronic, and their families, and to medically complex children and their families.  During your time without clinical coverage responsibilities applicant will be involved in personal scholarship and contribute to the educational mission of the palliative care team in education of medical students, residents, palliative care fellows, SLCH staff, and faculty colleagues in areas that include but are not limited to pain and symptom management, grief and bereavement, communications skills, and interdisciplinary approaches to caring for children and families who face life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.

 

  • Board certification in pediatrics
  • Fellowship Trained for ABMS Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and BE/BC
  • Eligible to obtain an unrestricted medical license in Illinois and Missouri
  • Approval from St Louis Children’s Hospital Medical Staff Services
  • Illinois and Missouri  Medical License or able to meet the requirements
  • DEA License

 

A.  Experienced pediatrician

B.  Residency training that included care for children with medical complexities, adolescents and young adults

C.  Scholarly focus in any aspect of pediatric palliative care and care of children with medically complex problems including but not limited         to inpatient and ambulatory settings, hospice and palliative care in the home, pain and symptom management, education, quality                   improvement training, and/or program development.
