Precision Imaging and Therapy Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) Faculty

Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) is seeking applications from outstanding Ph.D. and/or M.D. for tenure-track faculty positions at Assistant, Associate, and Professor levels.  We seek applicants who are committed to developing a multi-disciplinary research program focused on translational PET imaging in a broad range of disease domains and applications including: biomarker discovery and probe development, cancer detection and theranostics, infectious diseases, inflammation, cardiovascular, and CNS disorders such as addiction, drug abuse and neurological diseases.

MIR offers comprehensive infrastructure to enable cutting-edge preclinical and clinical imaging research, including state-of-the-art GMP Cyclotron facility, suite of clinical scanners at the Center for Clinical Imaging Research (CCIR) including the Siemens Biograph mMR simultaneous MR-PET and the Siemens Biograph Vision PET/CT scanners, as well as the latest in preclinical imaging infrastructure to enable multi-modality PET, MR, CT, and optical imaging research.  Of note, MIR recently installed a simultaneous PET/MR (3T/7T) preclinical scanner.  In addition, installation of new instruments is underway: a GE SpinLab to enable preclinical hyperpolarized C-13 metabolic imaging research and a preclinical PET/MR scanner in ABSL3 environment to enable infectious diseases research.  Additional details about MIR and its research environment can be found at https://www.mir.wustl.edu/research.

The ideal candidate is expected to have a track record of high-impact publications.  Success in external funding through grants and contracts is highly desirable and expected depending on rank.   The successful candidate is expected to lead a rigorous extramurally funded research program interfacing with the MIR’s research programs and facilities as well as the desire to collaborate with Washington University’s diverse faculty at the School of Medicine, Engineering, and Biomedical Sciences.
