Assistant/Associate Professor of Audiology and Communication Sciences (Audiology)
The Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences (PACS) at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor with expertise in clinical audiology. We seek individuals who are committed to an academic career in graduate-level audiology education and to administration of educational programs in audiology, deaf education, and speech and hearing sciences.
Duties and responsibilities of the position will primarily focus on teaching and mentoring students enrolled in the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program, assisting with coordination of clinical practicum and externship placements for AuD students, collaborating and participating with other undergraduate and graduate programs offered by PACS, and general administrative roles. The position will work closely with the Director of Audiology Studies on AuD program development and implementation. Research opportunities are available for candidates with training and interest to pursue independent, investigator-initiated research as part of the overall FTE.
PACS offers graduate programs in audiology (AuD), deaf education (MSDE), and speech and hearing (PhD), as well as a minor in speech and hearing sciences. We are uniquely organized and exceptionally effective, with over 100 years of rich history in the fields of hearing and deafness. We emphasize learning through coursework, hands-on experiences, and integration of current research. The AuD program is currently ranked #3 in the nation by US News & World Report and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) through 2025.
Candidates should possess a PhD degree in audiology, hearing science, or a closely-related field; clinical experience in audiology with pediatric and/or adult populations; appropriate certification and licensure, including the CCC-A; and a strong record of teaching and mentorship experience at the college level.
