CARDIOLOGY: Faculty – Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology

The Cardiovascular Division, Department of Medicine, Washington University School of Medicine is a national leader in the delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care to a large, diverse patient population with a range of cardiovascular care needs, in training the next generation of leaders in cardiovascular medicine, and in conducting basic, translational, clinical, and population research to improve cardiovascular outcomes.

To expand its electrophysiology program, the Division is seeking a Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine level.  The electrophysiology group incorporates practices at the Center for Advanced Medicine, and its two outreach sites in West and South St. Louis County, and contributes to inpatient electrophysiology cardiac care in the CCU, high-risk cardiology service, and the consultation service.   We are seeking a candidate that is skilled and willing to participate in growing volumes of complex ablation procedures with ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, and SVT in adults with congenital heart disease.

The practice is supported by an extensive network of collaborative services, including cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, cardio-oncology, adult congenital heart disease, high risk obstetrics/maternal cardiology, pulmonary hypertension, and advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation. The general cardiovascular disease fellowship trains nine fellows a year, and also has several fellows undergoing training via the physician-scientist training pathway. Our fellows spend time on the electrophysiology service and work closely with the electrophysiology fellows and attendings to see consults and participate in procedures within the EP lab prior to advanced fellowship.  The Division supports a large number of clinical research investigations and clinical trials.

Washington University and St Louis are recognized nationally and internationally for research in medicine, science and biotechnology.  St. Louis offers four seasons with outstanding cultural and educational opportunities, and is a culturally diverse and family-oriented city.

The candidate should be an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D with interests in clinical research and teaching, and be BC/BE in cardiology and electrophysiology.

Applicants should mail or email Dr. Mitchell Faddis (mfaddis@wustl.edu) his/her curriculum vitae and a letter stating career goals to the Division of Cardiology, 660 S. Euclid Avenue, Campus Box 8086, St. Louis, MO 63110. Washington University is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and Equal Access Employer.
