Faculty (Full-Time), Foot and Ankle Division, WUSM Orthopaedic Surgery

Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible, fellowship trained, orthopaedic surgeon to join our active Foot and Ankle Division. Responsibilities of this position include development of a full-time academic clinical practice encompassing a wide spectrum of foot and ankle conditions as well as education and research.

 

ABOUT THE ORTHOPAEDIC FOOT AND ANKLE DIVISION:

The Foot and Ankle Division at Washington University Orthopaedics/Barnes-Jewish Hospital consists of two full-time faculty orthopaedic surgeons who are recognized nationally as leaders in their field.  The Division is dedicated to the highest quality of patient care, the education of orthopaedic trainees, and foot and ankle research.  In addition to orthopaedic surgeon faculty, the Foot and Ankle Service consists of a podiatrist, two orthopedic nurse practitioners, an orthopaedic foot and ankle fellow, and two rotating orthopaedic surgery residents.  The Foot and Ankle practice is part of an orthopaedic surgery department that is ranked among the best orthopaedic practices and holds the distinction of being listed on the Honor Roll by U.S. News & World Report.  Our group is the “practice choice” for professional sports teams in St. Louis, including the St. Louis Blues hockey team.  We also serve as team physicians for all the Washington University athletic teams.

 

All applicants must have completed fellowship training and be Board Certified, or Eligible. Must be eligible to obtain a permanent Missouri license.

• Active participation in, and commitment to, orthopaedic resident, fellow and medical student education in the clinical setting, with participation in teaching rotations, conferences, labs and journal clubs

• Engage in cooperative research activity as a primary investigator as a well as a collaborator with faculty and trainees in the division, department and throughout the School of Medicine

• Seek continued professional growth through mentoring, personal scholarship and through participation and leadership within regional and national professional orthopaedic associations.
