Professor with tenure in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genetics and Genomic Medicine

The Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time investigator genetics faculty member at the Professor level in the Division of Genetics and Genomic Medicine. The successful candidate should have a PhD in Neuroanatomy. Research focused on understanding the neuropathology of Batten disease or Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCLs), and other lysosomal storage disorders. Background in pre-clinical testing of a range of therapeutic strategies including enzyme replacement, gene therapy, neural stem cell transplantation and small molecule drugs, several of which have reached clinical trials.

 

The division includes 3 MDs, 5 genetic counselors, a nurse practitioner and 2 metabolic dieticians. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is nationally recognized as one of the top children’s hospitals in the country. Washington University is a major academic medical center. The Department of Pediatrics is a regional and national referral and consultation center that provides comprehensive pediatric care.
