Musculoskeletal Section Chief/Radiologist

<span></span><p style="background:white;"><span><span style="color:black;font-size:11pt;">The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO, <span>&nbsp;</span>is seeking an accomplished academic radiologist to join our faculty and lead our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Section.<span>&nbsp; </span>The MSK section is currently composed of 7 faculty, five fellows, and is extensively involved in medical student and radiologist education.&nbsp;<span>&nbsp;</span>The MIR radiology residency is the largest in the country and the University and Department are typically in the top 5 in the US in NIH funding. A T-32 grant supports research residents.<span>&nbsp; </span>MIR provides services to the highly-rated Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children&rsquo;s Hospital, which have just completed a 1 billion dollar investment in new patient towers overlooking <span>&nbsp;</span>Forest Park, recently rated the best city park in America. </span></span></p><span style="font-size:medium;"></span><p style="background:white;"><span><span style="color:black;font-size:11pt;">The MSK section interprets all diagnostic imaging </span></span><span><span style="font-size:11pt;">for a large group of referring university-based and subspecialized private orthopedists, rheumatologists, and other practitioners, encompassing a wide variety of traumatic, infectious, inflammatory, congenital, neoplastic, and sports-related conditions. In addition, a busy interventional service performs diagnostic and therapeutic pain interventions in the spine and joints, and has built a cutting-edge practice in adult and childhood percutaneous tumor biopsy and ablation. The section enjoys exceptional interdisciplinary relationships with other departments, for clinical, teaching, and research endeavors. </span></span></p><span style="font-size:medium;"></span><p style="background:white;"><span><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span><span style="font-size:11pt;">Washington University and MIR offer excellent facilities for clinical and basic science research with PET/MRI scanning for both pre-clinical and human applications, as well as advanced MRI technologies and a world-class PET facility. </span></span></span></span></p><span style="font-size:medium;"></span><p style="background:white;"><span style="color:black;font-size:11pt;">&nbsp;</span></p><span style="font-size:medium;"></span><p style="background:white;"><span><span style="color:black;font-size:11pt;">&nbsp;</span></span></p><span></span>

<span></span><p style="background:white;"><span><span style="color:black;font-size:11pt;">Applicants should be ABR certified or ABR eligible with either an M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. and fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology. </span></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size:11pt;">The desired candidate should be an outstanding clinician, educator and leader. <span>&nbsp;</span>A firm commitment to research as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and successful mentorship is essential.<span>&nbsp; </span>Demonstrated success in securing grant/contract support is highly-desirable.<span>&nbsp; </span><span>&nbsp;</span>Academic rank will be dependent upon qualifications. <span>&nbsp;</span></span></p><span></span><p style="background:white;"><span style="color:black;font-size:11pt;">&nbsp;</span></p><span></span>
