Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion

Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) seeks nominations and applications for the inaugural position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion (AVCDI). The AVCDI will lead institutional efforts to advance diversity, inclusion, and equity. The AVCDI will report to the Dean of the Medical School and partner closely with departmental chairs. The mission of WUSM is to "lead in advancing human health through the best clinical care, innovative research and the education of tomorrow’s leaders in biomedicine in a culture that supports diversity, inclusion, critical thinking and creativity." Accordingly, the AVCDI will provide consultation to the Dean and WUSM Leadership on diversity and inclusion efforts.

The AVCDI will serve as WUSM’s senior leader in coordinating efforts that ensure a diverse and inclusive environment. This individual will develop and implement an innovative and comprehensive plan for furthering diversity, inclusion, and equity within WUSM. The AVCDI will promote a culture of open participation and facilitate discussions on topics related to diversity and inclusion. The AVCDI will partner with WUSM’s diversity resources and committees to advance/accelerate the institution’s diversity and inclusion efforts.

The ideal candidate will be a nationally recognized leader in diversity, inclusion, and equity with proven experience and a strong commitment to diversity. The AVCDI will promote WUSM’s diversity and inclusion goals and initiatives, including the creation and implementation of innovative faculty, staff, and student recruitment and retention programs.
