The Department of Psychiatry in conjunction with the Taylor Family Institute for Innovative Psychiatric Research is recruiting investigators at all academic levels. The focus of this search is on psychopharmacology, broadly defined. Individuals with an MD/PhD, MD, or PhD with postdoctoral experience are eligible. Investigators with research programs in human inducible cell technologies, neuropharmacology, ion channels, chemical biology, and medicinal chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply, but any area of modern neuroscience will be considered. The Department includes strong programs in genetics, epidemiology, pharmacology, neurophysiology, and brain imaging and is embedded in a strong collegial and collaborative pre-clinical and translational neuroscience community.
These positions offer superb scientific resources in a collegial department with access to outstanding core facilities including sequencing and genomic analysis, high-performance computing, genome engineering, mouse genetics, viral vectors, behavioral analysis, and super-resolution imaging (among others). Department faculty members have extensive interactions with most departments at the university. In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of modern Psychiatry, there is the potential for joint appointments with other clinical and pre-clinical departments, including Anesthesiology, Neuroscience, Genetics, Cell Biology & Physiology, Computer Science & Engineering, Developmental Biology, Neurology, and others. Affiliations with the Pain Center, the Center for the Study of Itch, the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders, the McDonnell Genome Institute, and Intellectual and Developmental Disability Research Center are also possible.
