Physician Scientist - Hope Center for Neurological Disorders
The Department of Neurology and the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis are recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Professor position on the Investigator track in the Department of Neurology. In particular, we are looking for a scientist or physician scientist with an active research program that directly relates to neurodegeneration. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Hope Center, an interdisciplinary center with over 140 faculty members at Washington University.
Faculty members of the Hope Center are scientists and physician scientists whose research is consistent with the Hope Center mission: Collaborative research that seeks to identify biological mechanisms of neurodegeneration, and therapies for neurodegeneration. Hope Center investigators are in 21 different departments at Washington University, representing the School of Medicine, School of Engineering, and College of Arts & Sciences. The Hope Center promotes collaborative research through funding for pilot projects, access to cutting-edge equipment and expertise, and seminars/meetings/annual retreat to educate and foster interaction. This position enables exposure to the collaborative environment of the Hope Center, as well as Washington University’s extensive research infrastructure, evidenced by our track record of successful clinical and research productivity as well as commitment to faculty development.
For physician scientists, the Department of Neurology employs over 100 faculty and offers neurological care in all subspecialties. Affiliated hospitals include Barnes-Jewish (BJH), Barnes-Jewish West County (BJWC), St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH), and the Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
