Radiation Oncology-Cancer Biol

Commensurate w/Experience

Faculty position (non-tenure track) in Radiation Oncology Bioinformatics (Instructor to Asst. Professor/Rank commensurate with experience)

The Bioinformatics program within the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Washington University School of Medicine consists of a core group of clinical, physics and basic science investigators who use both archived and prospectively collected tumor samples to ask fundamental questions about radiotherapy efficacy.  Many of these tumor samples are associated with well annotated clinical databases that include imaging, treatment planning and clinical outcome data.  Our program is in search of a dedicated bioinformatician who would be willing to lead and coordinate efforts to maximize these resources for research, publication and grant applications.

The responsibilities will include further developing, maintaining, updating and curating our departmental tissue resources, advising and performing state of the art data analysis (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics), generating figures for manuscripts /grant applications, and  integrating  genomic, gene expression, proteomic/reverse phase protein arrays and metabolomic data with imaging and clinical outcome data.

Applicants should have at minimum a PhD in Bioinformatics/Computational biology.  Preference will be given to investigators with experience in next-generation DNA sequencing, RNASeq, state of the art data analysis methods, and experience with data mining of publically accessible bioinformatics databases including TCIA and TCGA.  Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
