Liver-Gastrointestinal Pathologist
Liver-Gastrointestinal Pathologist Washington University School of Medicine ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (USA). The Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time, mid to senior level gastrointestinal pathologist to head the Section of Liver and Gastrointestinal Pathology. The opportunities for the candidate draw on the resources of Washington University Medical Center, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center. Washington University School of Medicine is consistently ranked among the most distinguished medical schools in the country. Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a top 10 nationally ranked hospital with full range of surgical and medical subspecialties, and Hepatology/Gastrointestinal Medicine is internationally distinguished, with strong clinical and research programs in transplantation, benign and neoplastic liver, pancreaticobiliary tract disease, as well as benign and malignant luminal gastrointestinal disorders. The Section of Liver and Gastrointestinal Pathology is part of the Division of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology, with an interactive faculty enjoying wide subspecialty expertise. The successful candidate will participate in the clinical and academic missions of the Section and the Division at large. Excellence in diagnostic pathology, teaching, research and administrative abilities are expected. Importantly the successful candidate will mentor junior faculty in the section. The department enjoys a large residency program, with core rotations dedicated to gastrointestinal pathology, as well as elective opportunities. The department also has a Liver and Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellowship. Scholarship is a major goal of the department and applicants should be so committed. Individuals with expertise and/or interest in clinical, translational or basic research will be considered. Opportunities for collaborative research abound. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology, subspecialty training and/or extensive Liver and Gastrointestinal Pathology experience, and eligibility for licensure in the State of Missouri are required. Rank and salary are flexible and will reflect the academic and clinical experience level of the candidate.
