Associate Clinical Chief of Nephrology

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Division Chief of Nephrology, the Associate Clinical Chief is responsible for directing and overseeing the clinical practice operations in the division.  This position will focus on optimization of patient care and will facilitate collaboration with providers on the provision of high quality care, productivity, access for patients, patient satisfaction and provider/staff satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direct patient responsibilities in the inpatient, outpatient and dialysis setting.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of the clinical practice activities.
  • Responsibility for oversight of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Develops a model for monitoring clinical productivity for the clinical faculty.
  • Identifies, develops and implements strategies and programs aligned with the goals of the department of medicine and division of nephrology.
  • Provides leadership, mentorship and guidance to clinical faculty and staff, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development.

Minimum Requirements include:  The applicant must:

  •          Hold an M.D. or D.O. degree from an LCME or equivalent-accredited medical school.
  •          Hold the rank of Professor or Associate Professor of Medicine in their current institution.
  •          Be board certified in Nephrology.
  •          Maintain a role and/or engage in work of a national/international impact in scholarly activity, teaching or research in                        Nephrology.
  •          Demonstrate a strong clinical and leadership background in the practice of Nephrology
  •          Demonstrate excellence in patient care and teaching
