Assistant or Associate Professor - Podiatry, Acute and Critical Care Surgery
Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is recruiting a full-time academic Doctor of Podiatric Medicine to join the Section of Acute and Critical Care Surgery. Washington University School of Medicine is a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center providing multidisciplinary care to their community. The full time, 12-month service period, non-tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Professor Position will offer salary and rank commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Summer 2024.
Candidates should have a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from an institution accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine (AACPM) and be board certified or board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). Completion of an accredited three-year podiatric residency with experience in forefoot and rearfoot surgery, as well as be able to treat all aspects of podiatric healthcare including diabetic foot/wound care, sports medicine, and inpatient hospital management. They should hold or can obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Missouri. The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The candidate will be expected to have effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of podiatric patients with a focus on providing both outpatient and inpatient podiatric care. Dedication to enhancing a diverse workforce and academic environment is vital. They should be able to collaborate effectively with other clinicians. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching and research is expected.
