The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Assistant Clinical Director in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. To be considered for this position, we expect Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology. In this exciting opportunity, you will join a thriving and dedicated group of 34 Pediatric Anesthesiologists, 20 CRNAs, Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellows, Nurse practitioners, and Administrators with a unified focus on excellence in patient care, education, and innovation.  This group provides clinical care at the nationally ranked St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the Shriners Hospital for Children, and the Children’s Specialty Care Centers in West and South Counties.  Many faculty and staff hold leadership roles throughout the Washington University, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and the Barnes Jewish Hospital systems.

The Opportunity

The Pediatric Anesthesiology Assistant Clinical Director will have a primary appointment in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology Pediatric Pain Medicine and will be responsible, in collaboration with the Clinical Director and the Vice Chair of pediatric anesthesiology, for clinical operations and scheduling throughout all clinical areas supported by the division of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Pain Medicine. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine critically supports a shared academic mission with the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by providing clinical, educational, and research training to medical students, Anesthesiology residents, and Pediatric Anesthesiology fellows.  The ideal candidate is collaborative, intellectually curious, clinically skilled, motivated for life-long learning, and able to communicate with multi-disciplinary team members effectively.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology
  • Board Certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology is preferred.
