Faculty (Full-Time), Trauma Division - WUSM, Orthopaedic Surgery
Washington University School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery — Trauma Division — seeks a full-time clinical faculty member (rank commensurate with experience), to join a busy Level-I trauma center with an established team of OTA-member faculty. This position reports to the division chief with a start date of fall 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical: Responsibilities include developing a full-time orthopaedic trauma surgery academic clinical practice.
• Washington University School of Medicine enjoys strong brand awareness and has a reputation for providing premier clinical care regionally and nationally.
• WashU Ortho’s trauma division at Barnes-Jewish Hospital has a regional, national and international reputation for excellence in care, including traumatic injury, malunions, non-unions and limb preservation.
• Additional clinical responsibilities to include coverage of fracture cases at affiliated community hospitals.
Academic Instruction: Responsibilities include active participation in, and commitment to, orthopedic resident and fellow education, including:
• Clinical training and teaching.
• Participating in conferences, journal clubs and related activities.
Research: The faculty member will conduct research (clinical, basic science, translational and/or biomechanics), working with researchers within the department and across Washington University School of Medicine.
All applicants must have completed an orthopedic surgery residency and OTA fellowship training, or be in the process of completing fellowship. All applicants must be board certified or board eligible, and must be eligible to obtain a permanent Missouri medical license.
