Open-Rank Faculty Position in Neuroscience or Pharmacology – multiple openings
The appointment can be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full-Professor level with a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine welcomes applications for a tenure-track faculty position in one of our basic research centers. Successful candidates will join an existing group of faculty with research interests in basic and translational pharmacological science.
Collaborative research areas involve multiple aspects of drug discovery including drug mechanisms, medicinal chemistry, PK/PD, pharmacogenomics and drug development with a robust focus on chemical biology, pharmacology, behavior, and neuroscience.
Strong preference will be given to candidates currently conducting basic and/or translational research. Successful candidates will be expected to direct an active extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and/or postdoctoral education. Teaching opportunities are readily available but requirements are minimal, permitting a strong focus on research.
Candidates must have a doctoral degree (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent) and a demonstrated record of accomplishment as an independent investigator. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated success in promoting and supporting a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and possess emotional intelligence and a strong commitment to building a collaborative and safe culture.
PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent, plus at least three years postdoctoral experience.
