The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis seeks a faculty leader with experience in clinical aspects of General Infectious Diseases as director of the General ID group within the Division.   The appointee would be expected to contribute to the research, clinical, and educational activities of the Division.

 

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent in medicine, with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and possess or be capable of obtaining a State of Missouri Medical License.  In addition, the candidate must have sufficient experience and scholarly activity in Infectious Diseases to lead and manage a successful general ID group.  In particular, the successful candidate should be able to develop a strategy to educate and train fellows interested in the practice of clinical infectious diseases, to oversee the operations of the in-patient and out-patient clinical services, to mentor and support clinical faculty in general ID, to establish a program of education and scholarship in General Infectious Diseases and to participate in the management and strategic direction of the Division.
