The Division of Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis seeks candidates for faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/ Professor level. The Division of Oncology has outstanding resources, a collegial working environment, an impressive track record of clinical and translational research, and a well-organized clinical and research infrastructure. The Alvin J Siteman Cancer Center (SCC) at Washington University is one of the top cancer centers in the country, with Exceptional ratings from the National Cancer Institute over the past decade.

Washington University Division of Oncology/Siteman Cancer Center is seeking to recruit master clinicians who will see patients with a concentration in a select few areas. The disease group areas of interest include Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, and Breast malignancies. The physician will have outstanding support from nurse coordinators and nurse practitioners; weekend and evening calls are covered by an independent team of providers. Access to clinical trials is a significant strength. Washington University has well over 500 clinical trials for patients with various malignancies. Physicians also have access to experts in various disciplines.

As an integral part of the educational mission, the faculty members will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students. Candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent and be board-eligible or board-certified in Medical Oncology by the appointment start date.

Located in St. Louis, Washington University Division of Oncology/Siteman Cancer Center is the only center in Missouri and a surrounding 250-mile radius to be designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).   It has also been awarded the NCI “Exceptional” rating, the highest designation for cancer research programs available.  The metropolitan area has a population exceeding 2.8 million people and our diversified economy is home to corporate headquarters and major business divisions across a range of industries.  Some notable companies that consider St. Louis home include Centene, Emerson Electric, Reinsurance Group of America, Edward Jones, Energizer Holdings, Express Scripts, Post Holdings, Graybar Electric and Bunge, just to name a few. St Louis is also home to the CORTEX, a vibrant 200-acre innovation hub and technology district integrated into St. Louis’ historic Central West End and Forest Park Southeast residential neighborhoods and adjacent to the Medical Center campus. St. Louis is host to more than 100 different pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, many of which (approximately 80%) were founded by WU faculty, staff and alumni.  The 1,200% growth rate of the St. Louis technology hub is almost double that of its closest follower (Munich, Germany).
