Research Imaging Faculty Pre-Clinical Imaging Operations (non-tenure)

The Department of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has an opening for a research faculty position (non-tenure track) to be engaged in research within its multi-modality preclinical PET/CT/MR imaging facilities. The rank is to be determined commensurate with experience.

The department is equipped with a comprehensive suite of preclinical imaging equipment, including a MR Solutions simultaneous PET/MR (3T/7T) scanner, a Bruker 9.4T MRI with mouse brain CryoProbe, an Agilent 11.74T MRI, an Agilent 4.7T MRI, and a number of preclinical PET/CT cameras.  We have also recently installed a MR Solutions 7T MR which resides behind the barrier in a BSL3 facility.

The individual will support and facilitate research projects involving the preclinical MR and PET/MR scanners within the Department of Radiology’s Preclinical PET Imaging facility (https://www.mir.wustl.edu/research/core-resources/preclinical-pet-imaging-facility/ ) and the Small Animal MR Facility (https://www.mir.wustl.edu/research/core-resources/small-animal-magnetic-resonance-facility/ ).  The successful candidate’s efforts will initially focus on developing and implementing imaging protocols on the MR Solutions scanners but are anticipated to expand to the other imaging platforms as needs develop.  The preclinical imaging infrastructure in the Department of Radiology interfaces with the Center for Clinical Imaging Research (CCIR), the cyclotron facility with access to a wide array of radiotracers, and the Department of Radiology research enterprise (details available at https://www.mir.wustl.edu/research/ ) to support translational imaging research.

We are seeking for exceptional candidates holding a Ph.D. with experience in hands-on MR research and optimizing MRI protocols.  Prior experience with small animal imaging and pulse sequence programming is preferred.
