Assistant/Associate Professor of Neuroscience
The Department of Neuroscience at Washington University School of Medicine seeks investigators with the passion to create knowledge, pursue bold visions, and challenge canonical thinking as we expand into our new, state-of-the art 10-story purpose-built neurosciences research building.
We are seeking tenure track investigators at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our community of world class researchers in neuroscience.
The Department aims to complement our interdisciplinary research strengths in molecular, cellular, circuits, systems, cognitive, computational and theoretical neuroscience, using a variety of different animal models including non-human primates. Research areas include but are not limited to fundamental mechanisms of sleep and circadian rhythms, sensory systems, perception, navigation, learning and memory, decision making, and the circuits underlying large-scale brain dynamics and motor control. Investigators seeking to understand the development of neural circuits, synapse formation, physiological synaptic integration, neuromodulation and the function of glia are encouraged to apply. Washington University Medical School is one of the leading centers in the world for imaging with world-class facilities for cellular and sub-cellular imaging as well as human and animal MRI. We are therefore also seeking investigators developing and/or using cutting edge technologies in neuroscience.
