Clinical Nephrologist

The Division of Nephrology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is seeking to hire a Clinical Nephrologist at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level. The selected candidate will join an existing community-based academic faculty practice under the leadership of Division Director of Nephrology, Dr. Benjamin Humphreys. The primary responsibility of the new attending will be to care for a large and growing population of dialysis patients (currently ~150) centered around a new dialysis unit. The candidate will also help cover an inpatient service at one hospital adjacent to the new dialysis unit, as well as outpatient clinics nearby. An advantage of this position is that all practice areas are in a single geographic region, limiting drive time. Call is one in three and will be shared with division faculty. In particular, the successful physician will have an opportunity to grow home hemodialysis and there will be protected time for academic activities, depending on applicant interests and accomplishments. The candidate selected will receive a faculty appointment to Washington University consistent with their credentials. Salary will be based on candidate's work experience and expected productivity and will be competitive with private sector equivalents.
