In 1983, our program became the first in the state of Missouri to offer in vitro fertilization (IVF) services. The first babies in the state conceived through IVF were born to parents treated in the university's ART program. As we move forward into the next decade we look to harness our legacy in discovery and data-driven science to better customize treatments to improve the likelihood of live birth for our patients.

To support this mission, the Washington University St Louis School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Barnes Jewish Hospital Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center is currently seeking an IVF Laboratory Director to join our growing fertility team in St Louis, MO.

Candidates should work well with others, have good communication skills and possess the ability to supervise laboratory personnel and be able to work cooperatively with physicians. There are four full time, experienced embryologists and a newly hired embryologist as well as a part time andrologist that will be crossed trained in embryology. The current embryologists work very well together and are fully trained in all areas of ART and capable of fully training new embryologists.

Furthermore, the division recently underwent a national search and recently appointment a new division chief. The hospital supports the current space that houses the ART laboratory and ART procedure area and is committed to investing in the growth of the fertility and ART service line.

Candidates should have flexibility in their schedule and will need to be available on some weekends. Teaching of medical students, residents and training of embryology staff is also expected.
