Medical Director of Laboratory Hematology

The Department of Pathology & Immunology and the Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine (LGM) at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) in St. Louis are inviting applications for a Medical Director of the Hemostasis section of the Core Clinical laboratory at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH)at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level

 

The Department: The Department of Pathology & Immunology excels in basic and clinical research as well as delivery of outstanding surgical pathology and laboratory medicine services to our patients and colleagues. The Department has an ACGME-accredited Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency program and multiple fellowships.

The Division: The Division of Laboratory & Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pathology & Immunology is a fast-paced and dynamic home to faculty with diverse clinical and research interests, and has a long record of innovation, research, and scholarship. Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. A successful candidate will have experience in clinical and laboratory aspects of hemostasis, including provision of clinical consultations, validation and implementation of new laboratory methods, excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for teaching, and a collaborative attitude. Board-certification or board-eligibility in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine is highly desirable but not required. In addition, the individual is expected to participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research activities.
