Pediatric Nephrology - Faculty Position, Clinical Educator #1010535

The Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric nephrologist to join our growing and diverse academic faculty of 10 members. This open rank position primarily encompasses clinical care and trainee education, with the possibility of some clinical/translational research time being built in. Primary responsibilities will include expanding our Hypertension and Vascular Health Program and outreach clinics, including at Southern Illinois University.

The division has a thriving clinical program with a wide range of pathology and provides acute and chronic dialysis services, pheresis services and pre- and post-kidney transplant care. We have a specialized hypertension program and joint clinics with Urology. Our school, department and division all have a long-standing track record of outstanding basic and clinical research. We are recognized for outstanding teaching to our sizeable pediatric residency program and have a long-standing ACGME approved Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship program. The division has consistently been listed in the US News and World Report top Pediatric Nephrology programs, #19 in most recent report. Faculty members practice at the attached St Louis Children’s Hospital (ranked in all 10 specialties in 2020 US News and World Report), which is a part of the very large Barnes-Jewish Care health care system. The Wash U Medical Center campus is located next to the 1371 acre Forest Park, one of the largest public parks in the country. Compensation will be commensurate to rank and experience.

The greater St Louis area offers many hidden gems, including world class (and free) museums, numerous theaters, 3 professional sports teams, and plentiful outdoor activities. St Louis has its own hallmark cuisine. Cost of living is very affordable.

Applicants must be board certified/eligible in pediatric nephrology and eligible for a Missouri license.

Candidates have to apply through https://facultyopportunities.wustl.edu/.
