Computational Imaging and Informatics Faculty Positions

 

The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at the Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) in St Louis invites applications from outstanding Ph.D., D.Sc. and/or M.D. candidates for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all levels to lead the development of new programs in Computational Imaging and Informatics.

The selected candidates will be members of the Computational Imaging Laboratories (CIL), which is a multi-investigator research group with over 40 students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and clinical fellows that provides a collaborative environment for diverse computational research initiatives. CIL investigators perform ground-breaking work in medical image processing and analysis, imaging informatics, artificial intelligence, and a range of disease-focused applications. Current areas of research include Alzheimer Disease, mental health, stroke, and oncology. The CIL also supports large scale initiatives across the Medical School, including the Human Connectome Project and Alzheimer Disease Research Center, through its high performance computing and informatics services. The CIL provides a physical and intellectual environment that promotes collaborative, innovative and interdisciplinary neuroimaging research and supports the career development of students and junior faculty.

For each position, rank and tenure status will be commensurate with experience. It is expected that the applicants will have a strong track record of publications and success in external funding through grants and contracts. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a multi-disciplinary, rigorous and extramurally funded research program interfacing with the MIR’s research labs, translational imaging facilities and WUSM. The scope of this program includes, but is not limited to, computational imaging, quantitative image analysis, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning for diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutics, and imaging informatics. We invite applicants in all areas, but added attention will be given to those whose strength lies in image reconstruction, imaging genomics/multiomics, deep learning, applications beyond brain (e.g., cardiac, body/musculoskeletal, lung and oncology) and have a strong translational focus.
