Chief of Cardiology
The Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief, Division of Cardiology.
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine, the Chief will be recognized as an accomplished physician-scientist charged with leading the continued growth and development of the division’s educational excellence and outstanding clinical programs and will support ground-breaking basic, clinical, and translational research. The Division Chief oversees all administrative and financial functions supporting clinical operations, research administration and educational programs.
The successful candidate will be a visionary and strategic leader in in the field of cardiovascular medicine with knowledge and experience in academic institutions, health centers, and teaching hospitals coupled with administrative experience having served in the capacity Section/Division Chief, Center Director or similar leadership position having had significant budgeting responsibility.
The Chief will be renowned for clinical excellence and have demonstrated a commitment to medical education and promoting scholarship/research opportunities for students, residents, fellows and faculty members. The ability to recruit, develop, mentor and manage faculty across the clinical, research and education missions is essential.
Qualified candidates must hold ABMS certification in Cardiovascular Disease with an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree and should be at or above the Associate Professor rank.
